Be unique

It’s the middle of 2024 already, and it’s safe to say that a lot of people are familiar with many different types of websites, blogs, products, and advertisements, and they’re also pretty tired of seeing the same old content whenever they power up their PC or TV.

Speaking from personal experience, we recently developed a habit of instantly scrolling past something if it doesn’t look one bit unique and different from what we know. The thing about being unique is that it doesn’t take much to achieve it, but it will take you a long way. We’re not saying that if you find out your content looks slightly close to someone else’s that you should start deleting everything but try to keep it as unique as possible, and you’ll see that people will appreciate you for it.

Connect with social media

We already know that social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram are off the charts these days, so connecting all of your accounts and sharing links to your original blog is something that’s going to drive a lot of traffic towards you.

Or, if you want, you can use them as a place to share everything that you’re doing. There are so many ways to do this, either by going live, although that’s considered vlogging or by sharing stories, photos, and videos that you’ve edited beforehand.

Get yourself a creative name

You might think that this isn’t important, but it makes a lot of difference. With a creative name, people will be more attracted and interested in seeing what content you have to share with them. If you are a regular internet user, chances are that you’ve sometimes opened a certain website just because the name looked catchy. Also, later on, it will make a lot of difference when you start running some marketing campaigns and ads.

You can change your name at any time, but that’s not usually recommended because you can confuse your followers, but if you think that your new idea is amazing, why not?

A professional design

How your blog looks will most likely be a deciding factor on whether people are going to spend their precious time on it or not. Nowadays we all appreciate a well-designed website, so either tries to think of a unique template on your own, or just visit templatemonster.

Remember that hiring a professional designer will be costly, so prepare a budget beforehand, or learn how to do it on your own. There are a lot of informative videos out there that you can find on YouTube and other educational websites, so try to use them to your advantage.

Don’t post too frequently

Most newbie bloggers are trying to “bombard” their fans with as many posts as possible during the week, but this is not a good strategy from a marketing point of view. When you’re oversaturating the market with your presence, you’re making people less excited to see something new from you. Make sure to post in moderation, so don’t keep your fans from waiting too long, but don’t become boring to them either.

Double-check before posting

It might seem like a very obvious thing to do, but you’ll be surprised when you realize that even some of the most famous bloggers are usually posting before they double-check. This makes it very easy for critics and other “competitors” to find either a grammar mistake or something in the export of your graphics etc. Make sure to double-check because it doesn’t take more than five minutes, and it can save you a lot of “flame” later on.

Family-friendly or not

It is important to decide whether your content will be family-friendly or not, and label your webpage as either the first or the second option. Today there’s a lot of buzzes when it comes to things like this, and if you’re a regular on YouTube, you’ve probably noticed already. Most channels are labeled as family-friendly, and even those who are not are slowly trying to censor out certain elements. Probably because this type of content gets more views and visits, and is easier to advertise.

Connect with influencers

Influencer marketing is a method that’s relatively new in the corporate world, and it offers one of the best returns on investment rates. Here’s how it works.

We’ve all seen a popular person on Instagram, so-called an influencer, talking about a certain product and how it helped them improve their quality of life. Well, in most cases, this product is not really what they’re using, or they could be, but they’re still paid by the company to advertise it in front of their followers.

You can do the same thing with your blog if you are trying to reach a greater audience, and it’s really useful both when you’re starting, and later when you’ll want to expand even more. Remember that influencers can either ask for a favor, such as including their profile link in one of your blog posts or if you’re new in this, they’ll probably ask for a certain amount of money. Either way, it’s up to you to communicate with them and see what the best option is.
