During the testing period, Kirito gets attached to the game and wishes to enter it. He eventually does enter the game but only to find out that there is no escape from the game.
Around ten thousand players get stuck in the game with no option to log out. The only way they can set themselves free is by defeating the boss in the final round. To reach the final round, players must cross a hundred floors by successfully eliminating the enemies from each floor.
They return to their normal life after accomplishing the mission. After returning, Kirito finds out that Asuna has been held as a captive. He re-enters the game with a mission to save her life and bring her back to the real world.
The Cast
Sword Art Online was telecasted across the globe in various countries. It was majorly made available in English and Japanese. Hence, the voice-over was done in two different languages by different artists.
Kirito was voiced by Yoshitsugu Matsuoka and Bryce Papenbrook in Japanese and English, respectively. Kirito is the main character of the series. He takes up the responsibility to set everyone free from the game. He acts as a leader who leads from the front.
Asuna was voiced by Haruka Tomatsu and Cherami Leigh in Japanese and English, respectively. She leaves no stone unturned to support Kirito in winning the game. She leaves behind only at one point and that costs her to remain a captive in the game.
When Can We Expect The Release
The next volume will only come out once Reki Kawahara expands the universe in his novel.
All nine volumes have been interesting and have attracted a huge fan following. If the writer ever comes up with the next volume, then it is guaranteed to break numerous records. However, there has been no confirmation from Reki Kawahara regarding the same. A-1 Pictures, the production company behind the anime, has not commented either.
Things You May Want To Know About Sword Art Online Season 5
Total nine volumes have been released in Japan but only four volumes have been released in North America and Europe. There is a possibility that the fifth season, or the fifth volume, may be based on what’s left from either of the five Japanese volumes.
The series is based on a novel of the same name. It was written by Reki Kawahara. The novel was adapted for television with a set of nine volumes in Japan. All the volumes have been released on television.
Summing It Up
A special episode was released in 2012 or 2013. It was titled, “Extra Edition.” Since we have five Japanese volumes left, there is a possibility that the fifth season to be released may come up as a special episode.
